Project Overview
Solid Hook was hired to transport a custom horse sculpture created for a Chinese New Year display at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto. The artwork was fabricated at a production facility and required careful preparation before being moved due to its irregular shape and delicate finish.
Although the sculpture weighed approximately 1,000 lbs, its geometry and surface finish required controlled lifting and secure stabilization during transport to avoid any twisting or damage.
The piece was first prepared and secured onto a flatbed truck using a custom support frame and protective wrapping to ensure it remained stable during transportation.
Because the delivery location was inside one of Toronto’s busiest shopping centres, the move was scheduled after mall operating hours to allow safe access to the interior display area.
Once onsite, team carefully rigged and maneuvered the sculpture into its designated location, where the design team completed the final installation and display setup.
